I have been obsessed with the coffee filter flowers lately! I think they look just like peonies or some really fluffy old fashioned roses. :)
I searched out a bunch of different ways to make them via the internet and pinterest. I made several different styles but these ones were my favorite because they SO reminded me of peonies. This girls tutorial was the most similar to how I created my flowers and if you follow the link from her blog it will take you to another great tutorial.
Here is a wreath I made with my coffee filter flowers. I just altered the sizes and colors of the flowers. I also added some little rolled roses. You can find the tutorial for those here.
Mine needed to be SIMPLE.. no time for floral tapes.. sewing needles... or intricite cutting! lol Ill show the steps below so you can follow along and make some for yourself too! They would be awesome for a party or wedding. So many ideas for these!

Ok here is a little tutorial on how I created these beauties... I took photos from my phone as I went along!
First you will need 10 dyed coffee filters.I dyed these with fabric dye that I got at Michaels. I created many different shades of pink by mixing the dye with water to create lighter/saturated colors. You could also use koolaid, teas, coffee, easter egg kits, food coloring. Just play with the colors to get them right!
I like to use 3 different shades of the same color for each flower with the two darkest on the top and then mix the other shades as you layer.
Take 2 of your darkest color and fold in fours.. then cut edges like shown.
Fold the rest of the filters in fours and cut a wavy line like shown in the lighter pink
When your done you should have 2 pointy circles.. and 8 wavy circles
Pile them all on top of each other with the darkest two on top
Take a piece of wire and poke through the center of each filter as shown
Pull through to the bottom and twist
Start scrunching each layer one at a time bringing to the center
Keep scrunching and pushing to the middle until you get through all the layers.
Fluff the flower until it looks good
Next cut out 4 leaves from green coffee filters
Layer and stick through the wire. I also like to hot glue mine in place if needed
Then fluff the flower to perfection! It is really easy as 123 once you get them going.
Below is a printable sheet that you can print to help you while you make them. :)
Let me know if you make them and how they turned out for you!
Love,
Heather
