I am taking a few tenetive steps into the world of Jewlery Making. I have loved jewelry for as long as I can remember and I am excited to try my hand at this amazing art. I have been wanting to do some new things lately... it is good to try new things... reinvent ourselves a little bit every once in awhile, yes?  

This little quote has been helping me a lot lately and not just with learning how to make jewelry but just with lots of things... it is my favorite quote.

I tried to incorporate lots of vintage elements... old beads and rhinestone pieces which I love. I love the idea of wearing a pretty necklace with a white tshirt and jeans. I am the ultimate comfy/casual girl.... so I hope my jewelry will reflect a casual yet elegant style. I am going to start listing a few pieces tomorrow evening in my shop so I will share a few more of my sparkly creations tomorrow.

Another thing I am listing tomorrow is a few vintage wallpaper collections. these are very very limited because I am parting with some of my "never sell" papers... the really special ones. hehe ;)

  

 

They will be larger sized sheets which I have already ironed so they will be easy for you to unroll and use. I was thinking they would be perfect sizes for inspiration boards... or even to frame behind an old window. I am still working on papering the back of that cupboard I shared a few posts back. I just love using these pretty old papers in my home.

I Thought Of You Swap~ For Laura

My swap partner Laura received the box of goodies I sent her this week... so I thought I would share the treasures I gathered for her for the "I thought of you" swap. I was SO happy to have Laura as my partner... I just adore her and loved shopping for her. I think we have so much in common as far as our tastes go. The image above was in a book of  reproduction victorian images that I have... I had to send it to her because is said "to Mamma from Laura". oh so sweet.

Some really pretty vintage postcards in Laura's colors. Don't we all just LOVE vintage postcards? They are just one thing I can never seem to get enough of and love to sort through boxes of them when I see them.

She collects Limoges china so I was fortunate that my Mom found this gorgeous Limoges bullion cup and sent it my way for her. Thanks Mom. ;)

This pretty tin reminded me so much of Laura... I filled it with some vintage laces and millinery flowers which I know she loves.

 

Some pretty vintage wallpapers in all the blues and greens like she likes.

 

I noticed that Laura liked silver from some photos she showed around her home so I knew I had to send her this pretty little dish with roses on it.

This box is so cute isn't it? I love the handle. I added the vintage wallpaper to the bottom and  used it to house some of her goodies when they went into the box.

I made these little boxes for her... and I love the saying "birds fly home". Laura and I were talking about how our children are growing so fast so I am glad I chose this little saying for her box... and I am hoping our little birds will always fly home. ;)

I made a pocket out of the cutest page from an old music book and filled it with some pretty papers and old photos. We can never have enough of those now can we?

 

I didn't know at the time but Laura plays the piano...so glad I picked that page for the little pocket!

this is a beautiful old tablecloth... I didn't get a photo of the whole thing but it had such pretty embroidery.

And a beautiful picture that reminds me of two friends. Hopefully this picture will remind her that I thought of her with such fondness and had the best time gathering little treasures for her along the way.

Progress in the Craft Room

Hi there, today I am enjoying a day of quiet around here. My little munchkins are off with grandparents and friends, so I am working in my craft room. I have been sifting and sorting through stuff...oohhhhh the stuff.... how does one girl accumulate so much? It is ridiculous I tell you.

Anyway..

I have only been working on this room for about a year. hahah!! I carved a little niche out in my house for myself and am slowly making it all come together.

 

My husband and I hung a few shelves above my desk so I am trying to arrange them. Move this here... then move it there...stand back... try something else... you know how it goes.

I am finally pulling out my stash of vintage boxes to store trinkets inside. I want to make cute labels for each one so I don't forget what is inside. I will share more of the craft room soon... I hope this post will be a little push to get it done. ;)

This beauty is a cupboard my sweetest Mom bought me for Mothers Day. It is also going in the craft room, I found the perfect spot for it... but it needs a little bit of tlc.

The inside is a bit rough. I am going to clean it up the best I can... but oh it is a diamond in the rough dont' you think?? Gonna add some vintage wallpaper to the back of it.

Now to choose which one...

I thought of you...

My best bud Stephenie hosted a fun swap titled "I thought of you". Such a cute idea for a swap! I received my amazing package this past weekend from my swap partner, and sweet friend, Laura. Laura is one nicest blogging girls I have met and I was so excited to have the opportunity to swap with her.

What an AMAZING package she sent to me, when I say amazing, I mean AMAZING!! I truly had tears in my eyes when I opened every little thing she so carefully packaged up for me. Every beautiful thing was chosen with SUCH care and suited to my taste so perfectly. Just wait til you see...

Well, everything was packaged into these beautious tins... which were all wrapped with pretty ribbons but I didn't take pics until after I opened them. Simply gorgeous!

ok so this is the most BEAUTIFUL old candy box with velvet flowers... just kill me now...

two pounds of yummy candy was in here... lol. I love how this box is a little tattered... just love it.

Laura handmade this most beautiful little box... which I adore.

and tucked inside was this GORgeous GOrgeous art deco buckle.... this is my FAVorite style of old jewelry.

She sent such beautiful stunning laces that she wrapped on wallpapered tags!

This lace is amazing ... it is hard to capture how beautiful. It took my breath away when I opened it.

and eeek... this pink/gold souvenir cup is JUST the type of thing I have been collecting lately! SO perfect

the most beautiful pillow slip I have ever seen.. such detailed embroidery. Where in the world did she FIND all of these gorgeous treasures is what I want to know??

Laura, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so thankful that you took so much time and care to send me such a special and thoughtful package. Every single thing is so beautiful and I will always treasure these lovelies,  and when I see them I will always "think of you"... ;)

French Holy Cards

Aren't these gorgeous antique holy card images BEAUtiful?? I downloaded the images from Mary Green at Green Paper. She is an avid ephemera collector and shares some of her collections as an instant download purchase. You can find them right here along with some of her other collections. I LOVE them... and can't get enough of them... and want to use them for so many things.

This one with the little blue forget me nots is my FAVORITE one... I love it. There are 30 cards in the whole collection.

I also bought these beautiful calendar images... so so lovely.

and you can see when I did my soldered charms I used some of the holy card images in them.

So anyway, I had to share them with you incase you might like these as much as I did. ;)  xo heather

p.s.-If you have never purchased a digital download before, it is SO easy... you just pay through paypal and then you get a link (Mary sends it via email) to the place where you download them right to your computer.
