Hello there bloggers! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. It is so beautiful here... i hate to see the weekend come to end.
This cupboard is supposed to be going into my kitchen as a little pantry however the kitchen is not ready for it yet because the cabinets still need painted among other things. SO, I had my husband bring it into my living room as sort of a temporary holding unit.
Don't you love the old door as the door???
The problem now is that I put my stuff inside I don't want to move it into the kitchen! lol!! I swear it is like ring around the cupboards around here. I have had 3 different cuboards in this exact space in the last month.
I love old cupboards! My Mom truly is the one that got me to love collecting old cupboards and most of the ones I have came from her... she has some beautiful ones in her home and sometimes brings them home all beat up and refinishes them.
We saw this one at an antique shop recently... and as soon as I saw it I knew it would be the perfect little pantry for my kitchen. I can imagine it filled with cool old jars for my flour and sugar and other things.
Funny it looked totally gray in the shop. Now that it is in my house it looks beige. Weird how lighting changes colors.
It is so solidly built, you can tell that someone made it all by hand with materials that they must have had on hand. I love the beautiful old wainscoting in the back.
So for now this sweet cupboard is here in this corner... maybe tomorrow it will be somewhere else. story of my life!

p.s.- remember a few posts back I said I was thinking of having a blog party? I am going to wait and have it a little later... too much going on right now to organize it... but I still think it would be really fun! thanks for those of you that said you liked the idea. If I decide to do it... I will let ya know. :)
