It is raining today. We are still in the midst of chaos here at my house. As I said in the last post we are doing a new floor which now is completely installed except in our foyer. My whole house is turned upside down with stuff in every room. This little corner is my little slice of pretty among the chaos because this is where I am testing my paint colors.
The baseboards & trim still need put in, (this one is only laying there...not attached). I seem to paint my house way more than anyone I know, so annoying to my husband. I just love change you know? I want a light gray for my walls. This one has a little bit of a purple hue which I am not liking much. I made my own recipe for this color by mixing a gallon of Sharkey Gray by Martha Stewart paints and a half gallon of bright white by Valspar paint. The sharkey gray by itself was way too dark on the wall. I am discovering that grays are very weird paint colors because they pick up so many different shades from other things. I am dreading going back to the paint store so I need to think on this one a little... what do you think of it?
The floors are so pretty... the pattern is called Olivewood, by Pergo. I shopped forever for the right flooring. I wanted a real hardwood floor, but we decided to go with this Pergo floor because it was better priced...and tons more durable and resistant to scratching. This floor was one of the most real looking that I could find. It even has a hand scraped feature that kindof adds to the look of the floor. They have come a long way since they first introduced laminate wood floors.
These pretty posies were picked from my yard today, ... just loving the deep blue glass too.
Can you believe this flower is a tulip? The name is Angelique. I have never seen another tulip so pretty. They look alot like peonies. I need to remember to order more of these this year to plant for next year. I want a whole big mess of them.
well my coffee is empty so I better get back to work before the kids come home and the day is gone... more home remodel pics to come... have a good day! xoxo Heather
