Good Morning... happy Monday!
The lovely Natasha hosted a beautiful fabric cuff-bracelet swap. I was excited to be paired with Sandra because she is definatly a girl after my own heart. ;) This is the beautiful cuff she made me! She took so much time and care with it. Everything is sewn so beautifully together with all the best little bits. One of the things I admire so much about Sandra is her ability to sew and crochet. She even made the lace that comes down in a point on the front of the cuff herself. I love that!
I absolutly ADORE that little ribbon rosette.... love the lacey bits and all those mother of pearl buttons. I forgot to get a better photo of the fringey part at the top... but I love that detail! I love the beautiful buckle in the center... so pretty with the silk fabric woven through it.... and of course I love the ruffle!
She even embroidered my initials on the back of the cuff... I can't tell you how much I love this l! I think I would wear the cuff on this side too just for that. hehe.
Inside the package she sent along the sweeeetest little things. the card is just adorable and see the pink ribbon on that button on the left? Well, that is a magnet! she glued a magnet to the back... genius.
Oh, I love this little lace with the ribbon through it... just adorable.
and how cute are these little tacks?? I love em... I just love em.
Thank you SOooo much Sandra for creating me such a beautiful cuff and for all of the pretty little things you sent along with it. I love it all!

Next up is the cuff that I sent to her...
When I think of Sandra, I think of lace and pink. She loves both of those things alot so that is where I tried to go with this cuff. I created it using a metal cuff bracelet as the base... since I don't sew well, this worked out great for me because then I could just glue my peices on! lol (Unlike Sandra, my cuff is completely glued together! eeek...)
I covered the cuff with pink silk fabric... and then added this beautiful ruffle trim that came from an antique collar.
then added a little silk ribbon rosette and a vintage rhinestone button...
I keep thinking it looks like a little ruffled gown! haha. Anyway, I am happy to know it is safe and sound with Sandra. It was truly such a fun swap and it was fun challenging myself to make something I have never made before. I had wanted to make a cuff for a long time but never sat down to make one. I had so many ideas for different styles and materials that could be used. I would love to make more sometime.
I am off to get ready for a doctors appointment. I have been very very sick for the last week or so... I have bronchitis/sinus infection and it is really bad... I have been spending lots of time sipping tea, coughing, sleeping, coughing, and playing on the computer. lol! I have an appointment to go back to the doctor today to see if I should go on a different medicine. I can't believe I am this sick in the middle of summer. I guess that is just how it goes...
My little son said to me when I was having one of my coughing fits... "Mommy, are you ok"...and I said "yes"... he said, "well, you keep making me worry about you"!!
kids say the cutest things...
hope you have a great day! xo heather
p.s.- thank you so much for the orders for the ribbon! I just know you are gonna love them. ;)
