Hello there! I didn't think I was ever going to make it to the party today. My sweet friend Louise is hosting a Home Sweet Home holiday party and I know this girl is hosting a party too ... and this one's is tomorrow .... Sooo even though I am hosting my own party on Monday there is no reason to just start the parties rollin now! haha... never knew the social circuit in blogland could be so happenin now did ya?
So today I will show you my tree.... now did you ever realize how hard it is to photograph a Christmas tree? I tried it in the daylight... and now at night and I am thinking the night ones look better?? I dunno... but really it is hard to capture the sparkle in a photo.
My tree is a real tree... it is called a Canaan Fir. I love it when trees are skinny at the top and swoop out at the bottom. I opted for just plain silver bead garland this year... now let me tell ya I debated about this for quite some time and every time I look at it I keep thinking I need some type of fatter ribboney meshy type garland??? but unless I tear all the ornaments back off and start again then it is just going to stay how it is. I know... just too much thought into this right? I need to remember the reason for the season and the garland is just not it! hehe
Here are some of fave ornaments... my kids have their own tree for their kid ornaments and this one is for all my pretty ones...
I made some handmade paper doll ornaments this year... I am loving them.
The vintage shiny brite ornaments are my fave and I especially love the indent ones. I love to find new ones for my collection. My Mom has the most beautiful Chirstmas tree with lots of beautiful old and blown glass ornaments... I always love to see the sparkle of her tree.
This is the star that I made for the top of my tree that inspired the ones I made for my shop.... my star is starting to tarnish since I made it last year.
This last little girl is an ornament that I made from an image that Lisa Kettel posted on flickr and has let us use for our personal artwork... just love this little girl.
For Sarahs Christmas Party she woudl like us to name 5 things we love about Christmas so here goes...
1. I love that we celebrate the birth of Jesus and when I start to get overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle it brings me so much peace to just stop and remember the true spirit of Christmas.
2. I love watching my kids decorate their tree... making cookies, or gingerbread houses. whatever it may be, but I just love watching them get so excited about those Christmasey type things.
3. I love snow at Christmas and think it is totally weird that other people around the world are having summer during Christmas. This is something I never really thought too much about before blogging, but now I see that there really are other people that don't have a cold and snowy Christmas! lol
4. I love Christmas music and sing alot during the season... my kids get annoyed. My favorite song is O Holy Night by this girl.... go on and listen! I guarantee you will be trying to hit those high notes too. lol
5. I love to watch people open gifts and I love it even more when they LOVE their gifts. Don't you?
Oh and one more... I have to say that my Christmas tree makes me SO happy. I love to sit and stare at it with a cup of hot chocolate and a great magazine. I think I might just go and do that now... have a great weekend and see you on Monday! xo Heather
