Hi Girls! I originally thought I was going to be away for most of today but since I have a few spare minutes I am excited to post a few pics for Cerri and Analise's show and tell Sunday ~vintage linens. If you have been reading my blog then you probably know that I LOVE vintage linens so so much. I originally started my journey selling here on the internet by having an ebay store that focused primarily on vintage linens. I adore them...the idea of other women before us creating them and cherishing them speaks to me.
This is my one of my favorite pieces... it is "blackwork" embroidery which is a close comparison to redwork embroidery but harder to find. I believe from what I have read that blackwork originated in Spain.
I adore the pattern with the little lady and her gent.
Italian linens are amazing... Love the intricate details on this pretty teacloth.
I adore this sweet little hand embroidered cloth...in just my color. :)
This is called coronation cord embroidery on this piece... this type of linen is hard to find but one of my favs. I always love the ones that are harder to find!
This is a pretty redwork pillowsham... love the image of this sweet cherub.
These are my fav little doilies.... such sweet little details.
Pretty embroidery... love the ones with baskets.
This one might fool you into thinking that it is handmade with the inticite details...but in fact it is machine made. Still so pretty with the little cherubs.
LOVE this pretty pillow with old tablecloth fabric in the front.
Monogrammed linens are just gorgeous don't you think? I was lucky to find a K on this tray cloth.
These are my fav pillowcases... and I am guilty of not using them because I am afraid of ruining them. lol but I love the dark haired belle. :)
The heavy linen and lace on this piece is amazing... I am pretty sure it was meant to cover a fire place mantle.
This was a little hard to photograph but it is a baby bib in what I belive to be Ayrshire whitework. Ayrshire work is my FAVORITE of all handwork...maybe because I can never seem to find it!! lol.... but this is a precious find knowing that someone lovingly made it just for a special little baby.
Well, I will stop now...although I could keep going on forever with this subject! lol... Most of my posts usually have some type of linen or lace as the background in them. I just love em! Thanks Cerri and Analise...this was a fun one!
Thanks for the prayers and well wishes for my surgery tomorrow.... I will see you all soon! xo Heather
